Controversial artiste Samuel Ofori popularly called Bro. Sammy has described the Musicians Union of Ghana, MUSIGA and Qisimah Insights who compiled the top 20 most played songs on radio as persons who do not know Jesus Christ.
The Kumasi-based gospel musician in a chat with Sammy Flex on Zylofon FM in Accra commenting on the fact that no gospel song appeared in the top 20 list they released days back disclosed that the two bodies do not attend church but are always at the clubs chilling and that is why gospel songs were absent in the chart.
To him, gospel songs gain massive airplay on radio so the list the music union presented at their first press soiree in 2018 should not be accepted. The ‘Nyame Ne Hene’ singer argued that most radio stations in the country start their day with gospel music so why would gospel songs be missing in the Qisimah Insights research.
“We sleep and wake up with gospel songs so those songs should have topped the list. If they make such a list and there is no gospel song then they are club guys, they don’t know God.
Those people do not listen to gospel music because everybody starts the day with God. All radio stations in the country start the day with gospel songs. Live worship has even taken lead in the afternoons and even those who do not know God have an idea about what happens in the country every afternoon.
The reseachers are no Christians, they do not atend church and they are club guys because you cannot wake up early in the morning and start playing Kidi’s “Odo” song. Every serious person in life wakes up with a gospel tune.” Zionfelix.net monitoring the interview heard Bro Sammy say on the entertainment morning show.
