Popular radio personality Nana Romeo famed as Nana Romeo Welewele, has shared his experience with his education while growing up.
While speaking in an interview, Nana Romeo recounted that even his biological mother never got to know the junior high school and senior high school he attended.

He added that she was not even privy to the kind of school uniform he wore to school because they were living an impoverished life.
Nana Romeo said he has smoked Indian hemp and cigarette before but has never tasted alcohol in his life.
The radio personality said he was so poor that he had to come to Techiman market after school to sew sacks meant for corn storage so he can get some money for upkeep.
He added that there was a man who used to lend him his bicycle which he used to run all his errands and it helped him alot.
Nana Romeo then recounted how he was lashed several times by one of his SHS teachers in Techiman SHS over his inability to pay tutors’ incentive.

He said during one such checks, the teacher assigned to his class had to lash him 20 times over his inability to pay. Nana Romeo said after the incident, he told the teacher that if he had the money, he would have paid long time ago.
