The former Deputy Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Rachel Florence Appoh has exclusively revealed in a chat with Zion Felix on the ‘Uncut’ show that the insolence of the manager of Akuapem Poloo was one of the major contributing factors that got her behind bars.
According to her, when the whole issue broke out somewhere in July 2020, the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection was doing their best to prevent the issue from getting to the court.
However, the manager of Akuapem Poloo foiled their attempt because he was too pompous.
Madam Rachel Florence Appoh said that the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection asked Poloo to come out to apologize to Ghanaians as her punishment but her manager vehemently disagreed and said that he will never allow that to happen.
“Gender ministry instructed her to render an official public apology but her manger prevented her from doing it. I personally spoke to him but he refused. The director of Social Welfare can even attest to this. What do you gain as a manager if your artiste goes to jail? Everything you have worked for will go to waste. As a manager, you are the one supposed to prevent Akuapem Poloo from going to jail,” she stated during the interview with Zion Felix.

She added that when the director of social welfare called Poloo’s manager initially to offer them this leeway out of the issue, he rudely retorted that the child was Akuapem Poloo‘s own child and as such, he had the right to do whatever she pleases with him.
