Controversial journalist, Blessed Godsbrain Smart, popularly called Captain Smart has made his first public statement after his release from police custody today, February 3, 2022.
The Onua TV/FM presenter was in court yesterday over an alleged bride he took to allegedly ‘k!ll’ a story he was doing.

Even though the court granted him a Ghc50K bill, later reports suggested that officers of the National Security decided to still detain him at a location they failed to disclose to his family and employers.
After all the reports on social media earlier this day by his employers, Media General that he was ‘missing’, Captain Smart has finally been released and his first action was to go straight on radio and grant an interview.
Captain Smart after his release spoke to Giovani Caleb and revealed that this whole thing is just a setup to tarnish his image.
He added that after the court granted them the bill, the police officers instead of taking them back to the cells if their bill terms were not met, they were rather driver around town for no important reason for about three hours before they were taken to Greda Estates Police Station.
He added that because this was not the first time, as soon as he got to the cells, he went straight to sleep and it shocked the police officers.
He however made the point that in all this, no one touched him.
