KNUST Authorizes The Study Of Kofi Kinaata’s ‘Things Fall Apart’ For Students In The English Department

The Management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has given authorization for their students to begin the study of Kofi Kinaata‘s ‘Things Fall Apart’ song from this semester.

According to the information picked from the social media pages of KNUST, the song will be studied by the level 200 students of the English Department for the first semester of the 2021 /2022 academic year.

According to the information they shared online, the university arrived at this decision because of the literary devices and lyrical arrangement of stanzas in the song.

“Because of the literary devices and lyrical arrangement of stanzas set up in Kofi Kinaata’s [@KinaataGh ] Song “Things Fall Apart”, the English Department of KNUST have authorized the song to be studied by level 200’s for the first semester of the 2021 /2022 academic year,” the tweet reads.

Within the past 6 years, the English Department of KNUST have authorized three of Kofi Kinaata‘s songs to their students. The songs are ‘Susuka’ 2016, ‘Confession’ 2018, ‘Things Fall Apart’ 2022.
