Ghana’s highly regarded musician, Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie, recently took to his Facebook page to express his disappointment and concern regarding his recent experience with Delta Air Lines.
The incident occurred on Sunday, September 10, 2023, when he missed an important event in Detroit due to a series of unfortunate events during his journey with the airline.

In a heartfelt post, Sarkodie shared his ordeal with his followers, shedding light on the shortcomings he encountered while flying with Delta Air Lines.
The musician, known for his impeccable artistry and professionalism, used his platform to raise awareness about the airline’s service issues and safety concerns, calling for a resolution to the problems he and other passengers faced.
Sarkodie began his post by recounting how Delta Air Lines had to make an emergency landing on an island in Portugal the day before his scheduled event in Detroit. Despite understanding that emergencies can happen, he expressed disappointment in the airline’s poor communication throughout the ordeal. Passengers, including Sarkodie himself, were left in the dark about what was happening, causing significant frustration during their six-hour wait at the airport.
One of the most alarming aspects of Sarkodie’s narrative was the airline’s choice of aircraft for the rescue mission. He noted that Delta Air Lines frequently sends “weak old flights” to pick up passengers from Africa, despite the apparent safety concerns associated with these aircraft. The conditions on these flights, according to Sarkodie, were nearly indistinguishable from economy class, even though passengers had paid for business class tickets. He highlighted the dangers they faced when their plane nearly landed in the ocean, an experience that left everyone on board shaken but thankfully safe.
Adding to the already frustrating situation, Sarkodie mentioned that there was no compensation offered to the passengers for the inconvenience they endured, nor were their bags retrieved from the island. This left the travelers in a state of uncertainty and disappointment.
Despite the unfortunate turn of events, Sarkodie displayed maturity and restraint by stating that he did not want to tarnish the reputation of any business. Instead, he expressed his hope that Delta Air Lines would address these issues and improve their services for future passengers.
Sarkodie concluded his post with a heartfelt apology to his fans in Detroit who were eagerly waiting for his performance. He assured them that he and his team were working on making it up to them, demonstrating his dedication to his fans and commitment to professionalism.
