E.L., the well-known Ghanaian rapper and music producer has confessed that his claim of working as a food delivery guy in the United States was nothing more than a fabrication designed to attract attention.
The artist, whose real name is Elorm Adabla, revealed the truth in a most recent candid interview.
Recall that not long ago, E.L lied in an interview on 3Music TV that there was a period in his life when he had to work as a food delivery person in the US to make ends meet.
However, during a subsequent interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, the artist came clean and acknowledged that the tale had been concocted for the sole purpose of gaining attention and trending.
E.L. clarified that while he had contemplated doing something like working as a delivery person in the past, he had never actually taken on such a role.
The rapper, who once clinched the prestigious Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) Artiste of the Year title, admitted to the fabrication by saying, “I said it for the trends.”
He went on to explain that his motive had been to garner positive attention and generate buzz around his name, which indeed seemed to be the result.
”Andy let me be very honest with you be my bro that whole thing ebi agenda we dey do. I no for do that thing but it’s one of those things. In the spur of the moment sometimes you get carried away. It was more like an attention grab and I shouldn’t have done it. It was also influenced by some people around me. I was fresh off the flight and I wanted to get something trending and it did trend.”
The rapper, took the opportunity of the interview to apologize to his fans and loved ones for the publicity stunt.
