In a swift and bold response to the recent remarks made by Ernest Owusu Bempah, the Deputy Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Ghanaian musician and dancer Ebenezer Asare, popularly known as Slim Buster, has come forward to defend his fellow artist, Stonebwoy, in a fiery statement that set the record straight.
Owusu Bempah had taken issue with Stonebwoy’s participation in the #OccupyJulorbiHouse protest, insinuating that the artist had been paid to join the demonstration.

Furthermore, he accused certain celebrities, including Stonebwoy, of tax evasion, suggesting they were not contributing their fair share to the government’s revenue. His comments sent shockwaves across the entertainment industry, drawing the ire of Slim Buster.
In a scathing response, Slim Buster didn’t mince words by asking that he wondered whether Owusu Bempah was okay when he heard him make those remarks.
Slim Buster highlighted the numerous ways in which Stonebwoy fulfills his tax obligations.
Slim mentioned that Stonebwoy, like many artists, pays taxes through the concerts he organizes. The tickets sold for these events generate revenue, and a significant portion goes directly to the government through the Ghana Revenue Authority.
He also mentioned that once Stonebwoy even decides to put his music on any of the digital distribution platforms, he is made to pay taxes to the government for which reason he is of the strong opinion that Owusu Bempah was completely ignorant on the subject matter.
