Ghanaian filmmaker, Peter Sedufia, has reacted to a post Afia Pokuaa made about Sonnie Badu.

After the popular Gospel musician called out Dr Kwaku Oteng for failing to sponsor his recent event following a promise, Afia took to Facebook to chastise him.

She stated that Sonnie should not have talked about it publicly. The media personality thinks it would affect Mr Badu’s future chances regarding sponsorships.

Reacting to this in a post sighted by Zionfelix.net, Peter Sedufia thinks otherwise.

From his point of view, the Gospel musician’s comments won’t deter any future sponsorship.

The filmmaker postulated why Dr Kwaku Oteng erred, triggering this brouhaha.

“Dear Afia Pokuaa, These are the kind of comments that make supposed people with money continue disrespecting and spitting on our self-worth. I think the hardest thing for a Ghanaian is saying “NO”. There’s absolutely nothing wrong in saying “No, I can’t help you” to people. See, if you no see big money before erh, you’ll think what Sonnie Badu said is a taboo.

“If you tell me “No”, I’ll go to your competitor. But if you say “Yes”, I’ll refrain from approaching your competitor. So, you can imagine the disappointment. In business, it’s always advisable not to use your own money for some things. See how best to leverage what you have for what you want. So, asking for sponsorship is not a crime, or a mere favour,” he said.

Peter added: “When you say “Yes” to people, it beholds on you to device your own system of reminder to fulfil your promise to keep your relationship and integrity. Or, reach out in advance to inform the person that, “Oh, I promised you, but due to ABC, I won’t be able to honour it”. Immediately, the person will know what to do. The artist even calls to remind you, but no response or a call back mpo. Please, I’ll call you out.

“I don’t think his comments will deter any future sponsorship as you’re saying. It’ll just ensure that people honour their promises in future for fear of being called out. Me de3, I’ll call you out if you promise and fail me. I’ll let people know you’re not a person of your words, especially if you don’t inform me about it ahead. “T” for Thanks!”
