Renowned Ghanaian rapper Okyeame Kwame has finally shed light on why he chose not to respond to Obrafour’s infamous diss track for him that is”Kasiebo” and featured Guru back in 2017.

Speaking with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM on November 14, 2024, Okyeame Kwame revealed that he was infuriated when he initially heard the song and in that moment, he thought of nothing else, but to hit back at Obrafour with a diss track of his own.

The Rap Doctor as he is affectionately called noted that it was the wise counsel of his wife, Annica, and some lecturers at KNUST, especially Professor Asante were the ones who steered him away from the confrontation.

He disclosed that they reminded him that there were more meaningful subjects to explore in his music.

Okyeame Kwame added that his wife, Annica, even pointed out that he hadn’t done songs that celebrated Ghanaian icons like Nkrumah or acknowledged God’s grace to think of dissing Obrafour.

As he shared this memories, the award-winning rapper expressed gratitude for listening to their advice, revealing that the decision not only saved his reputation but also preserved a valuable friendship.

Okyeame Kwame admitted that if he had chosen to retaliate, the outcome would have been a permanent rift between him and Obrafour.
