Ghanaian music icon, Livingstone Etse Satekla, popularly known as Stonebwoy, has stated that he has no immediate plans to venture into politics.

The celebrated musician believes his current platform as an artist provides him with significant influence to effect meaningful change in Ghanaians’ lives.

Speaking in an interview on Joy FM, Stonebwoy emphasized that his position as a musician enables him to contribute to national development without necessarily holding political office.

“I believe that being a musician is one of the biggest platforms that you can also have, because imagine God bless Stonebwoy to this level where you already have power.

“You are working to maintain and sustain power already, so in that capacity, you can still do the Lord’s work or the public work,” – He said.

His remarks follow the recent 2024 parliamentary elections, which saw notable entertainment figures achieve political success. Actor John Setor Dumelo secured a victory in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ticket, while musician and activist Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, won as an independent candidate in the Gomoa Central constituency.

While Stonebwoy admires their achievements, he is currently focused on serving the people through his music and lifestyle, which he describes as a “form of service for the nation.”
