Last week, Sabelor Cultural Group successfully concluded its week-long music and dance workshop in Agona Swedru, Central Region. The training program, designed for selected up-and-coming cultural groups, was made possible through a sponsorship grant aimed at supporting and nurturing emerging talents in Ghana’s cultural arts scene.
With a strong commitment to cultural preservation, Sabelor Cultural Group has previously shared its expertise with vibrant young groups across various regions of Ghana.
During this workshop, participants engaged in practical sessions on contemporary dance production, learning how to create original adaptations of traditional dance forms and patterns while expanding their artistic repertoire.
The workshop also provided an opportunity for drummers to explore a variety of Ghanaian rhythms, with expert guidance on blending them creatively to develop new and dynamic compositions. These sessions not only enhanced the technical skills of the participants but also deepened their appreciation for the rich musical traditions of Ghana.
Participants expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the sponsors for their invaluable support and commended Sabelor Cultural Group for its unwavering dedication to preserving Ghanaian culture while ensuring its relevance in contemporary times.
They encouraged young people to embrace and celebrate their cultural heritage, recognizing its significance in shaping national identity.
With an extensive history of performances and workshops across the nation, Sabelor Cultural Group remains a driving force in the promotion and advancement of Ghanaian traditional music and dance.
