The President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Mr. Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, has called on Angel 102.9FM to change the names of its daily news programs, ‘Orgasm News’ and ‘3some News’. These programs are broadcast at midday and in the evening, respectively.

Mr. Dwumfour expressed his concerns during a press conference held in Accra, stating that the names of the news programs are not angelic and do not adhere to the ethical standards set by the Union.

“The names do not align with the professionalism and ethical standards we uphold. They are neither suitable for the nature of the programs nor respectful to the audience,” Mr. Dwumfour asserted.

The GJA, which has been advocating for journalistic integrity since its establishment in 1949, remains firm in its stance. As of now, the management of Angel 102.9FM has not responded to the concerns raised by the GJA.

‘Orgasm News’ and ‘3some News’ have been the flagship news programs of Angel 102.9FM since its inception about five years ago. The GJA’s demand for a name change aims to uphold the integrity and ethical standards of journalism in the country.
