The APLA Awards, organized by the African Performance Leadership Award Committee in collaboration with EYE TV Africa, seek to spotlight individuals across Africa who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, influence, and contributions in their respective fields.

Sparqlyn’s nomination comes as a recognition of his exceptional achievements in music, culture, and community development.

With a career spanning over two decades, Sparqlyn has firmly established himself as a leading figure in the Ghanaian creative arts space.

From his early days as a founding member of the acclaimed Hiplife group Dunsin to his exceptional solo career launched in 2018, Sparqlyn has been consistent in the Hiplife and Afrobeats space.

His solo hits such as Jump On Me, Your Body, and Tumpa have earned him international recognition and a growing global fan base as well.

Beyond music, Sparqlyn serves as a Development Chief in Manya Krobo, under the title Nene Kanneh Larweh I, Noryam Matse, where he champions youth empowerment, cultural preservation, and unity among the Ga-Adangbe people.

He also has a scholarship scheme that provides a lot of support for the youth in the area, who are mostly very brilliant but unfortunately needy.

The talented musician in his work as a chief has also collaborated with high-ranking traditional leaders and contributed significantly to community development efforts.

His influence was further celebrated in March 2025, when the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) honored him with two plaques and a citation during the Akwaaba Festival, recognizing his impact on the music industry and his mentorship of emerging talents.

Sparqlyn’s nomination for the APLA 2025 award is a reflection of his immense legacy as a musician, cultural advocate, and entrepreneur.

His contributions extend to real estate development and youth initiatives, making him a symbol of progressive African leadership in the 21st century.

The APLA ceremony will be chaired by His Emperor Majesty, Ambassador Dr. King Nkosinathi Eugene Mahlangu, the Bongwe 2nd of the Ndebele Kingdom in South Africa. It will also feature keynote addresses on pressing continental issues such as climate resilience, terrorism, and corruption, with distinguished speakers like Dr. Shuaibu Danwakan and Amb. Dr. Joseph Anthony Carew.

With this latest honor, Sparqlyn continues to raise the flag of Ghana high, inspiring a new generation of artists and leaders across the continent.
