As Ghana prepares to hold the first ever edition of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) in the country, the minister in Charge of the Creative Arts and Tourism ministry, Madam Catherine Afeku, is so far making the point that calls on her ministry to disclose the amount the government is investing in hosting the event as unnecessary.
As a special guest on Hitz FM’s ‘Daybreak Hitz’ Tuesday morning and monitored by zionfelix.net, Madam Afeku described the question asked by the host of the show, Andy Dosty, about the amount involved in hosting the show as lame in a very indirect way. The minister stated that calls on her to disclose the budget is just like asking musician D-Black, the amount he received for the Kundum Festival he performed at as an artist. She categorically stated that such calls are totally lame.
She, therefore, urged Andy Dosty and the many other industry players out there, who are seeking to get some value for money accountability from the creative arts industry to focus on the show and the music and forget about the budget and the lame questions they keep asking her.

The event, scheduled for November 21-24, to be known as the 5th All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA – Ghana 2018, will have main awards programme spanning four days of wonderful activities. Activities scheduled to precede the main awards ceremony include the AFRIMA Welcome Soiree; Africa Music Business Summit; AFRIMA Music Village; Media Interviews/Meet & Greet; and a tour of the historic Elmina Castle in Ghana. In partnership with the African Union, the All Africa Music Awards is the biggest music event on the continent and the awards ceremony will be broadcast live to 84 countries across the globe.
