The Fantasy Dome of the Trade Fair Centre in Accra On Saturday, March 30, 2019, was filled with bliss, fun, and glamour as the 2019 edition of the 3Music Awards came live.
Even though talks about the show is not that much now, the brawl which marred the beauty of the 2019 VGMA has seen the boss of Group 3, the organizers of the annual 3Music Awards, Sadiq Abdulai Abu to disclose that the sort of investments which goes into awards events is very huge and as such, it is sad when such negatives pop up after the show.
Speaking with Zionfelix recently on the ‘Uncut’ show, the renowned media personality stated that they spent over GHc 800, 000 on the 3Music awards this year.
He revealed that even though the amount may sound too big to believe, the processes leading up to the awards makes it an undeniable truth. Sadiq told Zionfelix that before the awards came off, they had to put together a research team who worked for over two months with the aim of gathering the needed data to do the categorization for the various awards.
The entertainment critic added that the board who deliberates on most of the issues are top people in the industry who ordinarily cannot be paid but they usually show them some gratitude by offering something small for their fuel prices anytime they came for board meetings.
Aside from the two top reasons stated above, Sadiq stated that awards plaques which they bring in from China also cost at least $220 dollars per one and always they order for not less than forty copies.
The Chief Executive Officer of 3Music Awards stressed that the cost might have exceeded the GHc 800, 000 but luckily they had a media partnership with Multimedia Group and as such, they didn’t spend too much money on publicity. Also, he disclosed that they had another partnership with Fantasy Dome and as such, payment for the venue was off the table.
