After winning the season 10 of TV3’s Talented Kidz, Nakeeyat Dramani seems to have a lot in her—and it is not only about poems.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Zion Felix on the ‘Uncut Show’, Seven-year-old Nakeeyat disclosed that she wants to be an actor apart from being a poet.
“I will be doing more poems and I will like to act too,” she told Zion Felix when she was asked about her next move after she was crowned as a winner in the just ended Talented Kidz competition.
Reminiscing how she felt when her name was mentioned as a winner, Nakeeyat said, she was a bit nervous but by the grace of God she won and she was so happy about that.
Nakeeyat confirmed that her parents have agreed to support both her poem and acting career.
Mariama Mohammed, the mother of the little girl said her talent was spotted when she was just two and a half years-old at KG 1.
Amazingly, Nakeeyat’s mother recounted how she was able to memorize and deliver flawlessly a script which was about half a page at that tender age when a program was being held at their school.
She also described her daughter as someone who asks a lot of questions and even tries to research the answers given.
Commenting on Nakeeyats career, Mrs Mariama Mohammed affirmed how ready they are to support their daughter.
“We are ever ready to support anything she wants to do. In our religion, you will be accounted for whatever you do, so as parents we will guide her and watch whatever she does shouldn’t be profane or promiscuous life. We will never stop her for bringing out what is in her,” she stated.
She, therefore, advised parents not to underestimate or undermine what their children can do.
“Just support them, give them the best support they can ever have. Because you are their immediate friends…when you do that, you will get a successful family,” Mrs Mohammed added.
