Veteran Ghanaian highlife musician, Kojo Antwi has revealed how a television network in the country refused to play his music videos because of his dreadlocks some years ago.

Ironically, the ‘Afanfanto’ hitmaker said the network was broadcasting videos of other foreign musicians with the same head style.

“Even when I released my first, second, third album, we had this only one network and they will not play a video of Ghanaian wearing locks even though they were playing videos of Jamaicans wearing locks, but if you were a Ghanaian wearing lock, they won’t play. That’s a battle I have been fighting since; it’s a shame,” he divulged in an interview with Class FM’s Prince Benjamin.

Kojo Antwi made this revelation after Samini was reportedly prevented from having access to interact with the students of Ebenezer Senior High School in Accra by the Headmaster due to his dreadlocks.

Commenting on the issue, The Maestro stated: “It’s a shame; that’s all I can say.” He added, “That’s the battle I’ve been fighting ever since.”
