Veteran Ghanaian musician, Rex Omar has called on the board and organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) not to change their decision of penalizing Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy following the fracas at the 20th edition of the award scheme.
Speaking in an interview with MzGee on 3FM which was monitored by zionfelix.net, the president of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) said any attempt by the VGMA board and organizers to lift the ban placed on these musicians will serve a bad precedent.
Mr Omar, who believes in principles, said Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy are not bigger than the Ghanaian music industry.
He asserted that the ban of these musicians will surely serve as a deterrent to others so the VGMA authorities should be mindful of their next level of action.
Rex Omar stressed that what happened on that day was wrong then, and it is also wrong now.
