The organizers of 3Music Awards have explained why Fameye’s ‘Notin I Get’ song was nominated in the highlife category.
The Public Relations Officer for 3Music Awards, Obed Boafo didn’t see anything wrong with ‘Notin I Get’ being nominated in the highlife category of the award scheme when speaking in an interview with Sammy Flex on Zylofon FM which was monitored by zionfelix.net.
His reaction follows a statement made by Dada Hafco that the organizers goofed for nominating the song in that category.
Obed Boafo insisted genres evolve over time and it is a pity that the country has not been able to agree on one strain of what we have been calling highlife.
He stated that it is highly unfair for Dada Hafco to say the only highlife he knows is the one he does or practice as a musician or the one that comes with a certain rhythm.
According to him, the category definition being used as a guide may not be limited.
Nonetheless, the 3Music Awards PRO was aware such reactions will come as far as categorization and nominations are concerned.
