Kanea (meaning Light in the Ghanaian Twi dialect) was born on 2nd August 2004 to Mr & Mrs Amanfoh in Accra, a suburb of the Greaterd Accra Region of Ghana.
Kanea is a Ghanaian singer, songwriter and an actress.
Kanea developed the passion for music just 4 years after her birth. Her passion grew immensely leading to her participation in the TV3 Talented Kidz Show, season 3 in the year 2012, at age 8, of which she turned out the 3rd runner up.
Upon seeing this great talent by parents, a personal voice coach was employed to help nurture the talent for 4 years.
Kanea being so good on the piano makes song writing look very easy.
Kanea almost lost the passion to pursue music as a career when her loving and supportive Dad passed on to Glory in the year 2016 but consistent counseling and encouragements ignited the fire in her again.
Kanea known as Erica Owusu Amanfoh by her peers is currently a first year student at Labone Senior High School and has proven to be one of the best student in class, making it clear that you can indeed pursue your career and still not lag behind in your education.
Kanea is currently signed onto Afromuzik Entertainment and has released her debut single “Shatta Wale”, produced by MOG Beatz.
The name Kanea was carefully chosen by Afromuzik Entertainment together with a few stakeholders in the Ghanaian Music Industry, because they believe she is indeed the Light, Hope and Future of Ghana Music considering the quality of her songs and her projects.
