Rapper Edem has made a big disclosure about why a lot of musicians join the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).
Speaking in a recent interview with Giovanni Caleb on 3FM, the popular Ghanaian rapper revealed several musicians apply to join MUSIGA because they intend to travel abroad.
With the MUSIGA card, he claimed these musicians won’t be stressed when they go to the Embassy.
“MUSIGA membership, mostly people take that membership because they want to travel abroad. You get the card so when you get to the embassy, you will not talk plenty. Aside from that, there is nothing you really do,” he disclosed.

After congratulating the newly elected MUSIGA President, Bessa Simons, Edem was sceptical about the prospects of the union.
“Congratulations Uncle Bessa. If the institution has been there for years from Sidiku Buari to Diana Hopeson, I can’t also undermine some of the things they’ve done but I’m saying that once MUSIGA is not run as a business, I don’t think it will thrive,” he stated.
A section of musicians in the country has criticised MUSIGA in the past.
