Several Ghanaians including the president and entertainers have shared divergent views on gays and the latest entertainer to add his voice to the discussion is Kumawood actor Bernard Aduse Poku fondly called Koo Musuo.
The Vice Chairman for the Actors Guild chapter in Ashanti Region in his recent conversation on Zionfelix’s Celebrity Ride program posited that as an Ashanti, he should be against homosexuals but his stay outside the country has changed his norms and values. Bernard on the show stated that the social behavior of the Ashantis speak against the gay act but his new environment, America has thought him to people accept with different sexual orientation so he has no problem with individuals who involve in the act.
He continued that he would have hurriedly condemned the act if he had not traveled outside Ghana but the laws of America states that the sex life of a fellow should not be another person’s problem since it does not trample on his freedom. To him, he is straight so he has no problem with another human being who has decided to be a gay.
Mr. Aduse Poku made it clear that he would never think of changing his sex life to join homosexuals. When asked if he will allow his son to be gay if he wants to since he sees nothing wrong with the act, he replied Zionfelix, host of the Angel TV program that “my son can never tell me he wants to be gay”.
The outspoken actor continued that he is an African so he is nurturing his year old son with the African value which will prevent him from becoming gay in future.
