Actress Baby Blanche who launched a new campaign dubbed, Operation Remove Your Dross not long ago is under fire for the crusade.
The ‘Hot Fork’ actress at the press event held on Saturday, September 9 at PM’s in Accra told Zionfelix.net that the campaign is to advise ladies not to wear panties. To her, this action will prevent them from acquiring infections, which negatively affect the private part. The actress who said she has not been wearing ‘dross’ for the past seven years added that the vagina is a sensitive part of the body, which needs a breathing space, but ladies deprive it of this chance.
“Physicians aver that the female genital needs to breath to maintain its PH levels to prevent fungi and odour. In that connection, professional medics in the health fraternity advice going bare below when it is bedtime and at the close of the day for unbridled passage of air to that vital area.
A family Physician Dr Grace Obon, is of the view that women wear variety of panties and tight outfits that hardly allow their private parts to breath. Experts at Women’s health.gov say the vargina normally has a balance of ‘good’ and ‘fewer’ harmful bacteria. However, a condition called bacteria Vaginosis develops when the balance changes.
Obon says women with bacteria vaginosis may have an abnormal vaginal discharge with an unpleasant odour while some women may complain of a strong fish like odour especially after sex. Other symptoms may include burning when urinating, itching around outside of the virgina etc.
Medicine plus, also notes that too much moist in the female genital area can lead to vaginal yeast infection, most commonly due to the fungus candida albicans which can be detrimental to the hygienic sustenance of the female genital area.” she told Zionfelix.net at the launch.
Baby Blanche real name Blanche Worae after the launch of her organized course of action to achieve a goal has been lashed by many Ghanaians at homes, work places and on traditional and social media platforms. According to these critics, they wonder why a lady of her calibre will send out such a message to pollute the mind of ignorant ladies. Many have argued that Miss Worae launched the campaign just to gain attention but not to educate the public as she said at the event.
Individuals who share different opinion with Baby Blanche opined that the actress’ reasons for her campaign are false so ladies should not pay heed to it.
Baby Blanche premieres her first self-produced movie, Trophy on October 14 at the Silverbird Cinemas in Accra.
