Actress Gloria Sarfo, who is very popular for her role in the local TV series ‘Efiewura’ has expressed her total dumbfoundedness as to the reasons why the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Arts headed by the Hon. Madam Catherine Afeku decided to ignore them (Ghanaian celebrities) in the special meeting organized to introduce some Hollywood stars to the press in Accra.
The sweet sounding voice-over artist who happened to stumble on a couple of videos of the event which happened in one of the plush hotels in Accra posted by Zionfelix on his Instagram handle asked the simple question: “And where are our Ghanaians stars?”.
The ‘Glow City Boutique And Salon’ boss went on to state that it would have been very great if the ministry had decided to add them because it would have given them the opportunity to socialize with the Hollywood stars and possible jaw-jaw to look for a new way forward for the dying Ghanaian movie industry.
“Zion we should have been involved…Cos it’s an opportunity to socialize with them and see the way forward for our industry especially…My humble opinion tho” she added.
This initiative to bring top Hollywood stars like Michael Jai White, who is popular for the role he played in the blockbuster TV show ‘The Player” was headed by Hollywood star of Ghanaian descent, Boris Kodjoe. The ‘Station 19’ actor recently announced in a viral video that he was bringing 40 of the world’s renowned celebrities to Accra to experience the country’s rich culture and history. The event today, December 28, is surely a fulfillment of that big announcement he (Boris Kodjoe) made as an Ambassador of Film for Ghana.
