Sista Afia & Austine Woode on Abusua FM in Kumasi

Female highlife singer Sista Afia has told Austine Woode on Abusua FM in Kumasi how she used to fear dancehall artiste Shatta Wale.

The singer who was in the Garden City to promote her latest single, Jeje disclosed that she has always pictured the ‘Kakai’ hitmaker as a rowdy person because the media mostly reported the dark side of him. The professional nurse disclosed during the conversation that she was always afraid to approach him because she thought he would rain insult on her. Sista Afia added that she was surprised at the warm reception he gave her when they first met before proposing their ‘Jeje’ collaboration.

According to her, she never knew Shatta Wale was a very cool guy. Real name, Francisca Gawugah, Sister Afia said she felt comfortable with him two days after their first meeting because he proved beyond doubt that he is not how the media has portrayed him.

“One thing I always tell people is that Shatta Wale is one of the amazing, sweetest people I’ve ever met in the industry. Before I had not met Shatta Wale, I was afraid of him because of what the media painted about him.

When I even saw him on the first day, I didn’t want him to approach me because I was afraid he would shoot a video and insult me if I offend him but I became comfortable with him two days after.” Sista Afia said.

Narrating how she had Shatta Wale on her latest single, “Jeje”, she recounted “after I met him through someone, I told him I have a song I want him to listen. He then told me he would come to wherever I was and true to his words, he came to meet me. After listening to it, he said it was a nice tune so he would love to be on it. He then called Willis Beatz who produced it and asked for the data and in few days time, he sent me his part.”

Sista Afia made it clear that Shatta Wale did not charge him a dime for the collaboration neither did he take a penny for the music video. Zionfelix.net gathers that music video for Sista Afia and Shatta Wale’s collaborated song, Jeje will be out in few days.
