Ghanaian Gospel musician and pastor, Sonnie Badu is staking a big bet on Black Stars and Hearts of Oak player, Afriyie Barnieh.
The US-based pastor believes that the country’s football future is in the hands of the midfielder and a new cohort of players which he should lead.
His comments come at the back of Ghana losing 2-0 against sworn rivals, Uruguay in the final groups game matches in Group H at the ongoing Qatar 2022 Fifa World Cup.
Sonnie Badu took to Instagram to demand the scrapping of the senior national team and the rebuilding of a new team.
Stating his reason for the demand, the singer cum pastor said most of the current Black Star players wouldn’t want to represent the team during African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
This he said is due to the football infrastructure in Africa.
His solution is therefore that, the country builds a new Black Stars around Afriyie Barnieh who could lead them to win a trophy one day.
