Former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan, has been in the spotlight amidst trending social media discussions following a significant court ruling concerning his divorce proceedings on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
Reports surfaced, generating widespread reactions on Twitter and Facebook after an Accra High Court’s decision, which concluded a three-year-long legal battle between Gyan and his former wife, Gifty.

The court’s ruling addressed critical aspects of the divorce settlement, drawing attention to key points that included the confirmation of Gyan as the father of Gifty’s three children. Additionally, the court ordered Gyan to pay a monthly sum of GH¢25,000 to support the children’s upbringing.
The financial responsibility extends to covering various expenses, including school fees, healthcare, travel costs, and other childcare necessities.
The division of property became a pivotal aspect of the settlement. Gifty was allocated significant assets, notably including Asamoah Gyan’s UK mansion, a spacious four-bedroom house located in Accra’s Spintex area, and ownership of land designated for a fuel station in Prampram. Alongside the properties, she received a BMW and an Infiniti.
Following the widespread circulation of these details, the former Black Stars Captain, Asamoah Gyan, decided to throw a subtle shot at his ex-wife, Gifty Gyan.
On Twitter now X, th le former Black Stars skipper shared a comment on a news article shared by Ameyaw Debrah and suggested that his ex-wife, Gifty rather walked home with just a little fraction of what he has.
He wrote: “If I have 10 pts and I keep quiet cos I’m mature, and you have 2 pts and you going find public sympathy, then it’s cool. You are very funny. This is deep so think about it,” which many has interpreted to mean that Asamoah Gyan has the believe that his ex-wife is seeking public sympathy bu running to the press with the court ruling when he got the better deal in this case.
