Rapper Edem on Monday morning, December 12, 2023 was arraigned at the Kaneshie District Court on Monday morning for an alleged incident involving the knocking down of a woman on the George Walker Bush Highway around 2 a.m. last Saturday.
According to a report on Graphic.com.gh, the ‘Nyedzilo’ hitmaker was reportedly driving an unregistered Honda Touring vehicle at the time.
According to court documents, the woman, who has not been identified, has unfortunately passed away.
Edem faced charges of two counts of careless and inconsiderate driving and negligently causing harm when he appeared before the court, presided over by Nana Abena Asor Owusu Amenyo.
However, Edem’s plea was not taken during the court appearance.
The rapper has been granted bail in the sum of GH¢50,000, with two sureties, and is required to reappear in court on February 15, 2024.
The incident occurred after Edem participated as a guest on a television program at Abeka junction on Saturday night, running into Sunday dawn.
