The political atmosphere in the Okaikoi Central Constituency is heating up as the country prepares to go to the polls come December 7, 2024.

Baba Sadiq, the NDC Aspiring Member of Parliament, is not leaving any stone unturned in his quest to snatch the Okaikoi Central Constituency seat from the hands of sitting MP, Patrick Boamah after 12 years.

The former CEO of 3 Media Network has dared the sitting MP to a debate ahead of the elections.

The challenge comes in response to a video shared by Ghanaian journalist Caleb Nii Boye, in which Patrick Boamah expressed strong confidence in securing another term for the NPP.

In the video, the sitting MP declared that he was very sure of winning the seat once again in the upcoming elections due to his established record over the past twelve years.

He further dismissed the notion that political gimmicks, such as “pounding fufu for people,” would sway the electorate. Instead, Hon. Patrick Boamah emphasized that voters would prioritize competencies and track records when making their decision.

However, Baba Sadiq, undeterred by his opponent’s confidence, responded with a direct challenge under the video, daring the incumbent to join him in his rigorous campaign activities and to engage in a public debate.

He wrote: “Tell him to come join me for my house to house and door to door which happens every day between 3pm – 9pm. Except on Saturdays. Also, tell him I am waiting for our debate date ahead of the elections. Let’s debate his 12-year record and the new ideas needed to enable the livelihoods of our constituents. #TheBabaSadiqEffectIsInMotion.”
