Baba Sadiq, the former owner of 3 Music Network and a prominent industry gatekeeper, has also filed a police report against popular musician Livingstone Etse Satekla, known professionally as Stonebwoy.
The complaint, lodged on June 7, 2024, details allegations of threats made against Sadiq and his wife by the musician, following a disagreement over Sadiq’s support for King Promise ahead of the 25th TGMAs, which took place on June 1, 2024.

According to the statement filed by Sadiq with the Ghana Police, the conflict began on May 29, 2024, when Stonebwoy, who is one of the prominent figures in the Ghanaian music scene, contacted him to express his dissatisfaction over his public endorsement of King Promise.
The said endorsement was for the coveted title of ‘Artiste of the Year,’ at the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards, a category in which Stonebwoy was also a contender.
The statement of the aspiring member of parliament recounts a heated exchange in which Stonebwoy allegedly expressed his anger over social media commentary and the endorsement, suggesting that if they met in person, a physical altercation might ensue.
He indicated that this was a clear threat to his physical safety.
The backdrop to this police complaint is an ongoing legal battle between the two industry figures. Stonebwoy has recently sued Baba Sadiq for defamation over a series of posts made on social media.
The lawsuit, filed in the High Court of Justice on May 31, 2024, accuses Sadiq of making defamatory statements that Stonebwoy claims have damaged his reputation.
In the lawsuit, Stonebwoy is seeking GHS 3 million in damages and has requested the court to order Sadiq to delete the alleged defamatory posts and issue an unqualified apology. The posts in question have been a point of contention, with Stonebwoy asserting that they have caused significant harm to his public image and career.
