Edem Agbana, a prominent member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has publicly called out media personality George Quaye for his perceived neutrality in the political landscape.

This interaction occurred under a post made by George Quaye, where he shared a photograph of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), alongside Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh.

The picture was taken during the recent unveiling of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as Dr. Bawumia’s running mate ahead of the December 7, 2024, elections in Ghana.

George Quaye’s post seemed to emphasize the artistic merit of the photograph, stating, “Doesn’t always have to be politics. Doesn’t always have to be about umbrellas, elephants, butterflies or any other… Sometimes it’s just to appreciate the art… Honestly, I think this picture is beautiful! If you know the photographer who took this, please tag him/her. Let’s celebrate him/her.”

However, Edem Agbana interpreted this post differently, seeing it as a veiled attempt by Quaye to maintain a facade of neutrality while subtly endorsing the NPP.

In his comment, the National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidate for Ketu North urged the CEO of Image Bureau to openly declare his political stance, accusing him of hiding behind a guise of impartiality.

Edem Agbana’s comment read, “Be Bold and come join the partisan political train. Stop hiding behind this feeble attempt to appear neutral while subtly pushing partisan political agenda. Be man, you have the right to make a choice, your pretense and cowardly approach is ridiculous. Man Up and Join the Politics.”
