One tag which is heavily abused in the Ghanaian media circles is that of a ‘celebrity’. The tag is easily used to describe any person who tends to become popular through one viral video of a very absurd reason overnight.
Whereas others, who have probably done little in the media space are begging to be tagged as ‘celebrities’, talented actor Mohammed Boniface (MB), popularly known as Kompany has revealed that it is even useless to described as a ‘celebrity’ in Ghana.
Speaking with Zionfelix on the ‘Uncut’ show, the diminutive actor stated that elsewhere in the world, people who are described as celebs leave lives that people envy and would love to have but in Ghana, most of them, who are described as celebrities are struggling to even fend for themselves.
Kompany added that the work they do as actors, which is supposed to help them cater for their daily needs have been turned into a family and friends business and as such, they don’t get the money they need.

The “Obinyawo Aye” actor also made the sad revelation that if it was not by the help of some well to do fans and astute men in the society who occasionally send him some monies, he would have had a very hard time taking of his family.
