Ghanaian actress and fashion entrepreneur Salma Mumin has candidly shared her struggles with the societal label “slay queen” and how it has affected her career and personal relationships.

In an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM, Salma revealed that being tagged as a “slay queen” has at times created barriers in her professional life.

“Being tagged as a slay queen hurt me to the extent that some of my colleagues felt shy to work with me,” she admitted.

The actress recounted a harrowing experience where she was selected for a project, only for a colleague to withdraw upon learning of her involvement.

“It made me so sad and depressed,” Salma shared, adding that the incident left her questioning whether people disliked her solely because of the label.
