Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale has been arrested.
The Ghana Police Service announced his arrest a few minutes ago on their official twitter handle.
Details of the arrest of the musician is not known. The police service said details surrounding his arrest will soon be made available to the public.

His arrest comes at the back of a hoax allegedly engineered to claim he was shot and was in critical condition yesterday evening. The fake news was announced by his personal assistant, Nana Dope who is also in police custody with one other person.
Shatta Wale did announce earlier today that he will turn himself in and true to his words, he has.

Police Have Arrested Charles Nii Armah Mensah Popularly Known as Shatta Wale
The Police have arrested Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale. After we publicly declared him and one other person wanted, the suspect, Shatta Wale, turned himself in today Tuesday 19th October, 2021, at 8.59pm.
He has been arrested to assist the Police in investigations for his alleged involvement in the creation and circulation of information intended to cause fear and panic.
As stated in previous statements, the public is advised to desist from publishing false information, capable of disturbing the peace of the country or risk being arrested and prosecuted.
