During the IGP’s recent meeting with Ghanaian entertainers at the National Police Headquarters, it emerged online that COP Kofi Boakye while addressing the gathering said that he didn’t understand how everyone in the entertainment space is literally called a celebrity.
He is quoted to have said: “Who is a celebrity? What is the operational definition of the word celebrity? I think we should get that because I am confused, we are confused. Is it that when you appear in one film or you do one song you qualify to be called a celebrity or what? And you see because we are confused, we do not know what you want.”

Well, it appears Wendy Shay has a reply for him and she took to her social media pages to deliver the reply.
According to Wendy Shay in a tweet that has been seen on her official Twitter page, the word celebrity is an English word and as such, she is surprised anybody will say he/she does not understand the word.
She also expressed shock that some Ghanaians are hurt that some people are famous.
Her full tweet reads: “Celebrity is an English word,it means a famous person especially in entertainment or sports etc,but it seems some Ghanaians have their own definition for the word celebrity, somebody being famous(celebrity)too Dey pain u people ooh Dabi smh Ghana wake up!“
