Ghana’s Afua Asantewaa Aduonum successfully ended her fivw day long sing-a-thon that seeks to break the Guinness World Record for an individual’s longest singing marathon some few ago.
She ended it around 7am on Friday, December 29, 2023, by doing 126 hours, 52 minutes, which is a little over 21 hours more than the current world record holder.
The current record was set by Sunil Waghmare, an Indian who sang for 105 hours in March 2012.
Following her successful completion, the one Ghanaian that has been lingering on the minds of a lot of Ghanaians is when Guinness World Records will finally confer her as the new record holder.
In the work of the concerns and the numerous post made by some Ghanaians under the various posts shared on the official Facebook page of Guinness World Records, one Ghanaians journalist called Abrantie Kwasi Gyamfi managed to get a response from the body.

In the response, the body indicated that it is another long road Afua and her team must walk by furnishing them with the needed evidence for them to authentic.
The full reply of Guinness World Records reads:
“Hi Abrantie, we look forward to receiving evidence, this event certainly seems to have captured the public’s imagination.”

Afua’s journey to break this above record started at midnight on December 24 and it ended today, December 29, 2023.
Even before she is given the accolade, the Ghana Tourism Authority and Joy Prime aare planning to host an all-white Thanksgiving event at 6 pm at the Akwaaba Village in her honour.
