The Coronavirus pandemic has put a lot of Africans through loss of income but the 18 billiomaores from Africa came out unscathed.

Forbes has released the list of Africa’s richest billionaires in 2021. The 18 billioonaires on the continent have increased their net worth collectively regardless of the pandemic by $4.1 Billion.

On top of the list is Nigeria’s Aliko Dangote with $12.1 Billion – an increase by 2 billion from last year. Second on the list is Naseef Sawiris from Egypt who owns a 6% stake in Adidas.

South Africa’s Nickey Oppeinheimer comes in 3rd place. Luxury goods tycoon is the 4th richest in Africa. Coming in at 5th place is Nigerian Billionaire Mike Adenuga.

Cement and sugar tycoon Abdulsamad Rabiu took the 6th spot on the list while Algeria’s Isaad Rebrab took the 7th place. Naguib Sawiris who is into Telecommunications took the 8th position.

South Africa’s mining tycoon Patrice Motsepe is the 9th Richest person in Africa according to Forbes while South African and media mogul Koos Beckermet completes the list coming in at the 10th position.
