Actress Christian Awuni has expressed her displeasure at the rampant nature the idea of exposing too much of the body in movies is becoming an everyday phenomenon on the Ghanaian movie scenes.
The actress in an interview on ‘Celebrity Ride with Zionfelix’ stated that she sometimes wonders the real motive behind the unnecessary showing of the body in some Ghanaian movies. Christiana Awuni made this remark as she was speaking about some roles she has played in movies of renowned movie producer and director, Socrates Sarfo. She admitted that even though she has played some roles in the movies of Socrate Sarfo (a man who is known for movies with a lot of adult scenes) but she has never exposed her body in a movie.
Christiana Awuni again made the point that most of these young actresses who exposed their bodies are just over learning the culture of the Europeans and to her, it is not really proper. She also emphasized her point with an Akan adage that calls on the lady to ensure her private parts are hidden and as such the name ‘private’ given to her.
“… I don’t just understand, it is not our culture to be exposing ourselves as ladies…” she stated.

In as much as actress Christiana Awuni questioned this phenomenon, she also made the point that the issue of ladies generally exposing themselves in Ghana is becoming a norm, be it in movies or not. She added that young ladies in Ghana in recent times will just pick up a camera and take nude photos of themselves and upload on social media.
