Up and coming afrobeat singer Pamela Esi Haim Darko, known widely in show business as Pam has gotten some bragging rights after studying nursing at the University of Miami in the USA.
The songstress on Radio Univers Monday morning talking about her education in an interview with host of Brunch2Lunch mid-morning show, Zionfelix disclosed the gargantuan cash she paid as school fees during her four-year stay at the private, nonsectarian research university in Coral Gables, Florida, United States.
Pam disclosed that she paid $40,000 (177,705) each year during her stay University of Miami. Summing up the school fees she paid for the four year period just to study nursing, she mentioned $160,000 (Gh710,506) as the total amount.
She explained that the $40,000 a year covers tuition, school uniform and many other things but excludes food and accommodation. Pam described her education at the University of Miami as “going on vacation in Miami because we have pool, jacuzzi and many other facilities that will even make you forget that you are in school”.
After spending the gargantuan amount of money to study nursing at University Miami for four years, Pam who recently released her new single “Low Key” says she plans to take music as a full-time business instead of practicing nursing. The 567 Musik noted that her father is not cool with her decision not to apply what she learned at school but her mother is strongly behind the plan to become a musician.
Pam born at Dansoman in Accra left Ghana in 1997 to stay in the USA.
