The highly anticipated performance of Ghanaian music star, Sarkodie at Station Afrique in Paris was unexpectedly canceled.

The agency cited unresolved contractual issues as the root cause of the abrupt decision.

Initially, Sarkodie‘s performance was slated to be part of the Africa Fan Zone event at Station Afrique.

However, despite extensive efforts by Eagle Plug to ensure that the show went on as planned, the event’s organizing agency failed to uphold its contractual obligations.

In their press statement, Eagle Plug revealed that the contract for the performance had been signed two months ago, but the organizing agency’s failure to meet the essential conditions required for Sarkodie’s performance became increasingly apparent as the event date approached.

“Eagle Plug regrets to announce the cancellation of Sarkodie’s scheduled performance at the Station Afrique (Africa Fan Zone) event in Paris today, August 9, 2024. Although our best efforts were made to honour the commitment, the agency responsible for the event has failed to fulfill its obligations,” the statement read.

The agency went on to express their frustration, detailing how they had shown patience and understanding throughout the planning process, aware of the complexities involved in organizing such a significant event.

Despite this, the agency’s repeated assurances that all outstanding issues would be resolved upon Sarkodie’s arrival in Paris ultimately proved to be empty promises.

The cancellation has understandably disappointed many of Sarkodie’s fans, who had anticipated his performance as a major highlight of the Africa Fan Zone event.

Eagle Plug therefore extended their apologies to the fans, expressing regret for the unfortunate turn of events and promising to make it up to them in the future.
