Ace gospel musician, Edward Akwesi Boateng got many netizens heartbroken after a video that had him selling pendrives and CDs on the streets circulating on social media.
Many people felt that a gospel musician with the caliber of Edward Akwesi Boateng does not deserve to sell his own songs on the streets because he got a lot of money during his prime days as a music star.
In the wake of the numerous reactions, Edward Akwesi Boateng has finally come out to explain what caused him to take to the streets to sell.
In an interview on Akoma FM, the ace musician disclosed that he needed money badly to pay the school fees of one of his four children.
He added that even though he has tried his best to pay a huge page of the fees already, he did not have any money at home to pay the rest when his child came to inform him about the decision of the school to sack him of he did not pay the rest.
The “Makoma So Ade” hitmaker added that the only thing he felt was right to do after the son requested for the money was to sell some of the pendrives that has his songs on it to get the money.
He added that his current job as a mobile money agent does not fetch him much because he is working with a loan and as such the decision to sell in the streets of Asafo was the best thing to do.
