Ahead of the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, one person who was hugely tipped to win the ultimate award on the night which is ‘Artiste of the Year’ was gospel musician, Piesie Esther.
This narrative was heavily pushed by the ‘Waye Me Yie’ hitmaker herself and the famous ‘Table of Men’ group from the gospel music fraternity.
The Table Of Men is said to be a group of media personalities in the gospel fraternity who seek to push the agenda of gospel musicians in the country to higher heights among other things.
One of the key members of the group, Kwesi Ernest, in various interviews he granted pronounced that Piesie Esther was going to win the award no matter what, even though the signs showed that Black Sherif stood the best chance at winning this coveted award.

Despite all the campaigns made by the Table of Men and the assurances they gave the gospel music fraternity that they were going to win this award for them, Piesie Esther failed to win the award.
Soon after the announcement of Black Sherif as the ‘Artiste of the Year’ for the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, gospel musician, Empress Gifty took to her Facebook wall to subtly mock the Table of Men.
She wrote that she needs a new Table the next morning after the awards event and added laughing emojis.
A lot of the people who have commented on the post have attributed her post to the Table of Men and indicated that she is subtly mocking them because they failed to help Piesie bag the award.
