Ghanaian singer and songwriter, eShun has revealed the inspiration behind her song ‘Handcuff’.
In a video Zionfelix.net chanced upon, eShun said she wrote the song following the abuse she suffered in the hands of her former boyfriend and manager, Stephen Mensah.

According to her, she put all the pains, the rage and everything she went through in the song after she came out of what she described as a “toxic relationship”.
Though the song didn’t achieve the mark, she expected, she believes people will pay attention to it now that they know the story behind the song.
eShun lamented that a lot of women are going through a lot of abuse and hardships in their relationships.

She captioned the video posted on Instagram: “This song #handcuff goes out to women out there, that are bullied, Tortured, abused in many imaginable ways but stay in these relationships (marriage) because they are afraid of what people will think or say about them.
“Some stay because of their children. Dear Men, Respect Women, Love and treat all women like you would want to be treated, Periodtt. 🙏🏽 Enjoy #Handcuff out on all digital platforms. #queens ##queeneshun.”
