Ex-Kotoko player, Ibrahim Yusif Oubda, and his white partner have opened an ultra-modern international school called Bosomtwe International School in the Ashanti region.
The school, which is a non-profit one has been embarking on a charity project with free education for the nearby village kids by offering a Primary and JHS program + physical education under the roofing of the Ibrahim Oubda Education Foundation.
The cameras of the Zionfelix ‘Uncut’ show caught up with the great brains behind the school during their special open day on May 12, 2019, which happened to be mother’s day.
Ibrahim and his partner in the quick chat with Zionfelix revealed that they decided to set up the school to give back to the community.
The ex-footballer also emphasized that he has the dream to see children who have the desire to be great in any sporting discipline achieve that dream but do so side by side their education because that is what helped him.
In the near future, the school intends to board JHS students from other regions and to enlarge the school up to the SHS level. A second storey building is already planned to complete the facilities on the campus.
In addition to the Ghana curriculum, Bosomtwe International School teaches French as a foreign language and Physical Education (athletics, ball sports, and gymnastics) throughout all grades, starting in grade 1.
Other school activities of Bosomtwe International School includes homework supervision, a music club, cultural dance, and a reading club.
They have small classes, up to max. 10 – 15 students and our colorful classrooms are equipped with learning technologies like laptops, computers, serving as research tools, learning videos or video games and lego, which is mainly used at the Lower Primary to develop their thinking, concentration, and creativity.
The library is well equipped and offers puzzles, games, story and textbooks, dictionaries, etc. A computer lab completes the facilities where already grade 1 student are taught “scratch” and how to use computers or laptops properly.
Internet and wireless networks, as well as the power supply, are at times still a challenge in the rural environment of the school and the road conditions did also not support to bring kids from far.
