Female Artistes Need To Be Given The Same Backing Male Artistes Receive – Socrate Safo

Ghanaian movie producer, Socrate Safo has called for equality in the music scene.

He averred more women will develop an interest in the entertainment industry if female artistes are supported equally like their male counterparts.

Socrate, who also doubles as the Director for Creative Arts at the National Commission on Culture (NCC) pleaded to the media and industry players to support the female artistes the same as they support the male artistes.

“The issue of talent drain in the female music scene, proves that we are doing something for the males in the industry but are not doing same for female artistes,” he told Doctar Cann on Happy FM’s ‘Showbiz Xtra’.

“Just as we support male artistes, we should transfer that same energy to supporting our female artistes.

“They do their work alright but they need to be given the same backing male artistes receive,” Socrate Safo stressed.
