The Creative Arts Council have responded to the petition by some movie makers to the parliament of Ghana over the Film Village in the country.
A statement signed by the President of the council, Mark Okraku-Mantey sighted by Zionfelix.net, assured the petitioners about the government’s intention of building a film village at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
“We would like to bring to the notice of the general public that the sector Minister Hon. Barbara Oteng Gyasi charged a team headed by the Deputy Minister namely Hon. Alhaji Ziblim Bari Iddi, Mark Okraku-Mantey, Akwasi Agyeman, Kwadwo Antwi and Socrate Safo. Their mandate was to do a feasibility study into where the Creative Arts Village could be sited.
“The team came out with the resolution that: 1. One of the village be sited in Kumasi to serve the Northern Sector from Ashanti Region. 2. One to be sited in the Eastern Region to serve the Southern Sector from the Eastern Region,” part of the statement read.
