One of the revolutionary gospel musicians in Ghana is Chief Charles. You may know him as a radio pundit and the best event MC in the world but he is actually the founder of Ghana’s revolutionary Acappella group back in the day; “The Shepherds”.
If you are between the ages of 30-50 years and grew up in Ghana then there’s no way you would not remember and sing along the most popular Acappella song ever recorded in Ghana “Nasem”.
The founder of the group, The Shepherds, is the gray haired most fashionable gospel artiste in Ghana; Chief Charles.
Having recorded three Acappella albums (two with the Shepherds and another with The Missionaries) he took a long sabbatical only to return as a pundit first on Hitz FM and on Showbiz Agenda with Sammy Flex.
In a surprising turn of events the popular Acappella singer, affectionately called the “Acappella Grand Papa” has released a single gospel hit which is not Accapella as expected but causing quite some buzz in the Ghanaian and gospel music circles currently.
I cannot fail is the title of the single which brings out his vocal dexterity and finesse as a voice coach.
Currently on a promotional media tour, he visited Citi TV’s flagship morning show program “Breakfast Daily” where he delivered beautiful rendition of his single release I CANNOT FAIL and while performing live on TV, a rather awkward and embarrassing moment occurred when the keyboard with which he was performing strangely fell from its stand and truncated the masterful performance.
Analyzing the unfortunate incident, some remarked that the keyboard fell as a protest to the fact that Chief Charles is an Acappella singer thus he must stick and stay with Acappella rather than his current brand.
Whether it’s true or not we are keeping our eyes on his next performance, if there’s another unexpected keyboard or any instrument mis-hap then Chief Charles must return to his first love; Acappella.
For now his single I cannot fail is inspiring many and doing very well.
