Ghanaian media personality, Philip Kwabena Agyemang, popularly known as Roman Fada, has been chosen as the new presidential candidate of the Ghana Freedom Party.
The party settled on Roman Fada following the death of the founder and previous presidential candidate, Akua Donkor.
The party’s decision comes after the Electoral Commission’s directive that the party should select a new candidate within 10 days, following the demise of Akua Donkor.
Roman Fada confirmed his new position in an interview with Atinka FM.
According to him, the party’s decision to name him as the new presidential candidate was on the back of extensive consultations with the leaders of the party.

He added that Akua Donkor also wanted him to be her successor—so that heavily influenced the decision.
“It is true and we all know what happened a week ago today around 10 pm when Akua Donkor passed. God rest her soul. As you know, I was the running mate for the party’s 2024 presidential candidate ahead of the elections.
“She is no longer with us, so the party’s leadership deemed it right for me to replace Akua Donkor in the elections. So, if you heard, I am the new flagbearer for the Ghana Freedom Party,” Roman Fada stated.
