Ghanaian Disc Jockey, Micheal Owusu, otherwise known as DJ Mic Smith, has made a shocking observation about Ghana DJ Awards.
Airing his sentiment on Accra-based YFM which was monitored by zionfelix.net, the award-winning DJ said the scheme is known for awarding people who do not deserve to win since its inception.
“The history of the Ghana DJ Awards has been like this from day one. The people who don’t deserve win the award and those who have worked hard, stand out and deserve it do not win the award.
“I don’t anything about the awards, I don’t know the criteria. You are just there and they will say you have won the award. I don’t really know what went into it before she got the award,” he stated.
DJ Mic Smith added: “I am not surprised that she won but then kudos to her. She has done well.”
The conversation was on the heels of DJ Switch being crowned as the Best DJ of the Year at the 2019 edition of the Ghana DJ Awards.
Responding to his colleague DJs who have criticized the young female DJ’s winning capability, DJ Mic Smith questioned: “Why didn’t they comment when she was nominated? If you are saying the person is not supposed to win that award then she wasn’t supposed to be in that category in the first place. “
